RVDIOVCTIVE’s next release finds co-founder Devon James linking up with long-time friend Infuze for City Stars, a glowing house cut that drifts between cosmic atmospheres and club-driven momentum. The single arrives with three distinct remixes — from Chicago’s jacking heavyweights Gettoblaster, Detroit’s genre-defying Sinistarr, and rising techno talent maXIon from Ireland — each reframing the track for a different corner of the dancefloor.

The original mix is both expansive and intimate: shimmering synths and radiant chords unfold over a rolling house groove, evoking the restless energy of a city skyline at night. James and Infuze weave melody through rhythm in a way that feels cinematic yet firmly rooted in the club — a snapshot of their shared sensibility: soulful but cutting-edge, lush yet dance-ready.

The Remixes
Gettoblaster — With releases on Dirtybird, Relief, Defected, and many more, Gettoblaster has become synonymous with modern jackin’ house. Their rework of City Stars leans into that raw, percussive energy, stripping the track to its barest essentials and rebuilding it into a relentless peak-time tool designed for maximum dancefloor impact.

Sinistarr — A pillar of Detroit’s new wave, Sinistarr has built a reputation for bending genres between drum & bass, footwork, and house, with releases on Metalheadz, Hospital, and Exit Records. His remix pulls City Stars into broken-beat territory — a restless, syncopated roller that connects the track’s melodic roots to Detroit’s futurist tradition.
maXIon — A native of Derry, Ireland, and former member of the Japanese Popstars, maXIon brings a hypnotic sensibility rooted in stripped-down grooves and atmospheric tension. His remix of City Stars pushes into late-night, heady terrain: deep, minimalist, and entrancing, it’s the perfect closer for the release and a statement of his rising profile.

Infuze has long stood out as a boundary-pushing voice in electronic music. First making his mark within the bass scene, his early productions earned support from A-Trak, DJ Shadow, and Machinedrum, with releases on respected labels like Fool’s Gold, Armada, and STMPD. Over the years, Infuze has carved out his own lane, merging bass-heavy intensity with the groove and depth of house and techno. Known for meticulous sound design and fearless genre fusion, he’s become a mainstay in Brooklyn’s underground, constantly reshaping expectations of what a “club track” can be.

Devon James represents a rare versatility in today’s electronic landscape. He is a DJ, producer, label founder, tour manager, and educator who has made an indelible mark on dance music culture. His career has taken him around the globe, playing and touring alongside figures like Felix Da Housecat, Nicole Moudaber, Skream, Honey Dijon, Soul Clap, and many more. Beyond the booth, James has been a dedicated mentor and music educator for over 15 years. Between teaching at institutions as Orbit DJ Retreat in Ibiza and his work a a Native Instruments product specialist, James seeks to inspire the next generation of producers and DJs. At the heart of his work is RVDIOVCTIVE, the label and brand he co-founded and continues to lead. What began as a New York-based collective has grown into an international community, known for curating boundary-pushing releases, immersive club nights, and festivals like Mizata2Ourselves in El Salvador. Between the thoughtfully curated events and genre-bending label releases, Devon James continues to cement RVDIOVCTIVE’s reputation as one of the underground’s most versatile and community-driven imprints.

City Stars is more than just a single — it’s the culmination of a long creative friendship. Devon James and Infuze first began collaborating nearly a decade ago, and while countless sketches and experiments have passed between them over the years, this marks their first official release together. That sense of history runs through the track: a shared language of melody, rhythm, and vision honed over time, now given shape in a way that feels both fresh and inevitable. Paired with remixes that expand its reach across house, techno, and broken-beat, City Stars stands as both a reunion and a new beginning for two artists whose paths have been intertwined from the start.

Release date: September 26th, 2025.
