Since releasing his debut single ‘Growing’ on Tronic, Beswerda has evolved through milestones like 2021’s ‘Turmoil’ on Afterlife and recent outings via Habitat, the label curated by Mind Against.
An unofficial Frank Ocean edit helped expand his reach, earning support from the likes of Adriatique, Diplo, Camelphat, and Carlita, while recent appearances at DGTL and Awakenings mark a growing global presence. From Buenos Aires to Amsterdam, his music now connects listeners across borders — without ever losing its introspective edge.
Recently, Beswerda shared his latest release, ‘Yuly,’ on DGTL Records — a track that reflects his evolving sound while staying true to his emotional core.
To mark the occasion, he shares ten records that have stayed with him — tracks that inspired him, rescued fragile transitions, or reconnected him with forgotten moments.
1. The Cheapers – Memories (Vinyl Edit)
“When this record came out, I was just beginning to explore the melodic world of house. So minimal yet so full of emotion. I am so grateful I got to experience the peak years from 2014 to 2018.”
2. Moderat – Bad Kingdom (DJ Koze Remix)
“When I first heard this in a club, I couldn’t believe what I was experiencing. Vocals weren’t really a thing in the scene yet. It was such a relief to suddenly hear a voice open everything up.”
3. Kwartz – Decadent Grey (Conrad Van Orton Silent Dub)
“Whenever I want to push things up a notch in my set but still keep it sexy and groovy, this is the record that always works. Super effective.”
4. DJ Koze – Driven
“This works in opening, peak, or closing sets. Simple, clear, a little strange, but everyone understands it.”
5. Tale Of Us – Silent Space
“I have always been a big fan of vague and experimental elements in a track. This is one of those. Tale Of Us at their peak time if you ask me.”
6. Lake People – Night Drive (Original Mix)
“A perfect record to play in an opening set. Deep yet danceable. You can use this to activate people in those early moments.”
7. Robag Wruhme – Wuzzelbud FF
“Besides DJ Koze, Robag is another artist I look up to so much. The way their records are put together is next level. I am a huge fan.”
8. DJ Balduin – Andever
“I’m a big fan of the giegling sound — very minimalist, emotional, and journey-driven. DJ Balduin isn’t part of the collective, but this record fits perfectly.”
9. KH – Looking at Your Pager
“KH, aka Four Tet, has inspired me so much. His UK grooves and sound design are always on point. I wouldn’t play this one myself since the tempo is a bit too high, but I learned a lot from it.”
10. Jimi Jules – Burning
“It’s deep and full of emotion, with no generic samples or synths. The original vocals make it truly unique. Everything this man creates is insanely good.”
