Tame Impala have returned with ‘Deadbeat’, their first studio album since 2020’s ‘The Slow Rush’. Released on October 17th, 2025, via Columbia Records, the 12-track LP sees Kevin Parker drawing inspiration from bush doof culture and the Western Australia rave scene. The record was crafted between his hometown of Fremantle and his Injidup studio.
The album features the previously released singles ‘End of the Summer’, ‘Dracula’, and ‘Loser’. The latter arrived with a video starring Joe Keery—best known for his role in Stranger Things and as a musician under the moniker Djo—who momentarily swaps roles with Parker to depict the story of a dejected outsider.
‘Deadbeat’ marks a new chapter for Parker, who stayed prolific during Tame Impala’s five-year recording pause. He collaborated with Gorillaz, Thundercat, and The Streets, contributed original music to major films including Barbie, Dungeons & Dragons, and Minions: The Rise of Gru, and earned a GRAMMY for Best Dance/Electronic Recording for his work with Justice on ‘Neverender’. He also produced tracks for Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism.
