Emmanuel Callejas, NOTHANKYOU, and IT’S KING JULIAN join forces with Brazilian funk icon MC GW on ‘Bawineo’, out now via SUNDAY and One Seven Music.
‘Bawineo’ merges tribal house percussion with the raw energy of baile funk, delivering a dancefloor-focused anthem powered by MC GW’s unmistakable vocal presence. Built on hypnotic percussion, rolling basslines, and a hand timbal rhythm layered with chocalho beats, the track channels after-hours energy with a global underground edge.
The cross-continental collaboration began with Medellín-based Callejas, Venezuela’s NOTHANKYOU, and Miami’s IT’S KING JULIAN crafting the instrumental. Sensing it needed a powerful voice, they turned to MC GW—one of Brazil’s most prolific vocalists, boasting over 21 million monthly Spotify listeners and more than 3,700 vocal features in 2024.
