Brazilian producer Lutgens steps into the spotlight with his remix of Alex Stein and Victor Ruiz’s ‘Human Robot’, delivering one of the standout cuts from the newly released remix package on VOLTA Records.
The five-track collection brings together fresh takes from rising techno voices including Lutgens, Gonzalo F, Synthatic, Lyran, and Ravset. For Lutgens, this project holds deep personal meaning. Originally released in 2023, ‘Human Robot’ has long been a fixture in his sets: “It’s one of my favorite tracks since it was released… I’ve listened to it hundreds of times,” he says. “I find the synergy between Victor and Alex incredible, the way they connect musically. This song inspired me a lot in how to think about arrangements and energy in my own productions.”
In crafting his remix, Lutgens focused on preserving the essence of the original while injecting his own sonic identity. He retained the core hook and vocal elements but layered them with his trademark bass design, dynamic drum work, and a TB-303 line that reflects his current sound.
More than a technical exercise, the remix also marked a creative milestone: “Being one of the winners of a contest for such a special song, made by two very demanding artists, made me very happy. It made me realize I’m on the right path.”
With past releases on fabric, VOLTA Records, and Phobiq, and support from artists like ANNA, Sama Abdulhadi, Pan-Pot, and Adam Beyer, Lutgens continues to solidify his place in the global techno scene.
