The Angling Trust has announced DJ and producer Nick Warren as its newest official ambassador. A lifelong angler and global electronic music figure, Warren brings a rare crossover between the worlds of music and environmental advocacy.

Raised in Bridport, Dorset, Warren’s early years were shaped by fishing local rivers for brown and sea trout, as well as sea angling along Chesil Beach. Despite an international touring schedule — including appearances at Glastonbury and with his globally recognized project The Soundgarden — he has remained, in his own words, “an obsessed fly fisherman.”

Warren’s influence extends beyond music. His appointment as ambassador reflects a growing need to connect angling with wider cultural spaces and to highlight issues affecting aquatic environments. “Alongside catching salmon and sea trout, my angling focus these days seems to be my concern at the flagrant disregard politics and business show for our waterways and fish,” he said. “Anglers need to stand together, and champion our cause. Anything I can do to help the Angling Trust in their great work will be a pleasure, and I am honoured to be an Ambassador.”

As an Angling Trust Ambassador, Warren will support campaigns against pollution, promote modernized fisheries, and help broaden participation in angling — reinforcing the sport’s role in safeguarding nature for future generations.
