Abbey Road Studios has announced the first-ever rave inside its iconic Studio One. The event, titled Abbey Road After Hours, will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, marking a rare transformation of one of recorded music’s most storied rooms into a late-night club setting.
The night will run from 8 pm until 1 am and will host 300 guests inside Studio One. Access will be free and allocated through a public ballot, with fans invited to enter by calling the Soulwax rave hotline, which is now open. Abbey Road describes the event as a one-off moment, opening the space to a format traditionally far removed from its classical and cinematic legacy.
Belgian brothers David and Stephen Dewaele, best known as Soulwax, have been invited to curate the lineup for the evening. The program will include DJ sets from their 2manydjs alias, alongside special guests yet to be announced. The event will also mark the first major public outing of the DEEWEE Soundsystem, a custom speaker array acquired by the duo for their DEEWEE club nights and inspired by New York’s Paradise Garage.
New Soulwax music will play a central role in the night. The material will be recorded live in Abbey Road’s Studio Two the day before the event, with the band using the space as a creative laboratory alongside its vintage equipment and technical infrastructure. The recordings will be cut directly to vinyl and played in Studio One during the rave.
Reflecting on the collaboration, David and Stephen Dewaele say: “It’s hard to say whether we have a perverse or healthy attraction to crazy ideas, that’s for other people to decide, really. So to be approached with a crazy idea by the most iconic recording studio in music history is even more attractive. We embrace and accept this challenge and also sincerely hope this won’t be the last rave at Abbey Road.“
The night will be filmed and later broadcast on YouTube on Thursday, March 5, allowing audiences worldwide to experience Abbey Road After Hours beyond the studio walls.
