Multi-disciplinary artist and producer Lauren Mia has released a new single, ‘Rhythm of Refuge’, in collaboration with vocalist Gabrielle Roman. Out now via her own Halcyon Label, the track opens the imprint’s 2026 catalog with a deeply personal and emotional piece centered on the theme of love as sanctuary.
Described by Lauren Mia as her most intimate vocal production to date, ‘Rhythm of Refuge’ blends her signature emotive electronic sound design with Gabrielle Roman’s raw lyricism and ethereal vocals. The result is a poignant anthem that explores devotion, surrender, and emotional safety.
“‘Rhythm of Refuge’ is a love story in sound,” shares Lauren. “It is about loving someone so deeply that their presence becomes your breath when you are drowning and the fire that warms you when you turn cold… This song is a tribute to that kind of love, I think a love we all want and hope to have in this lifetime.”
The collaboration emerged from a close creative partnership between the two artists, marked by long studio sessions and multiple iterations of the track. Their personal connection shaped the process, with both artists investing in a sound that reflects a shared emotional journey.
“Gabrielle and I are collaborators, colleagues, dear friends and soul sisters. It was love at first sight and I knew together we would create a really powerful piece. And we did,” says Lauren.
Gabrielle Roman adds: “‘Rhythm of Refuge’ is about the one person who can actually quiet the storm you carry in your heart… With them, the world stops feeling like a battlefield and starts feeling survivable. I wrote the lyrics because that kind of love reshaped me, and Lauren’s instrumental gave me the world to write it in.”
‘Rhythm of Refuge’ continues the vision behind Halcyon Label, which debuted in 2025 with releases such as ‘Sapiosensual’ and ‘Only You’ with REYUS. The label focuses on emotionally intelligent electronic music designed to connect on both a personal and sonic level.
