Audio Obscura Festival returns to Rotterdam on Saturday, August 29, 2026, for a one-day event at the Van Nelle Factory. Presented as a temporary cultural installation, the festival merges electronic music, architecture, and public space at a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Following a sold-out debut in 2024, Audio Obscura Festival resumes its mission to present electronic music in unconventional spaces. This edition expands across the full grounds of the Van Nelle Factory, with brutalist walkways, open-air zones, and hidden industrial areas forming an immersive route where sound and architecture intersect.
Phase one of the lineup includes Chris Stussy, DJ Gigola b2b Chloé Caillet, DJ Heartstring, Honey Dijon, Folamour, Max Dean, Marsolo, Prospa, Obskür b2b Luuk van Dijk, Eileen, Olive F, AAT, and Jöella Jackson b2b Rayzir. The program blends international artists with Dutch talent, maintaining a focus on local roots and global resonance.
Described by organizers as a “temporary cultural intervention,” the festival reimagines the music experience as a fleeting installation — built, experienced, and then dismantled in a single day. A portion of the proceeds will support the preservation of the Van Nelle Factory as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Audio Obscura’s past events have included shows at the Rijksmuseum, Concertgebouw, and Amsterdam Centraal Station, as well as a highway rave during the city’s 750th anniversary celebrations. By placing DJs in unexpected locations, the collective continues to challenge how and where electronic music is experienced.
