Australian DJ and producer 1tbsp returns with ‘Soulseek’, a new single featuring Soltera. The track offers the first preview of his forthcoming album and arrives with an official music video.
Written between Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Sydney, ‘Soulseek’ unfolds in two distinct movements. It opens with a tense, intimate first half before shifting into a prog-tech-inspired second section influenced by underground parties and warehouse spaces. Soltera’s synth-driven vocals meet 1tbsp’s club-focused production, merging techno, punk, and dance elements.
“I made the instrumental on a flight from Mexico City to Los Angeles ahead of a recording night with Soltera,” 1tbsp explains. “For me, ‘Soulseek’ feels like a cleanse or a rebirth, and it gives a glimpse into this multi-genre album I’ve been making.”
Soltera adds, “‘Soulseek’ is about becoming one, merging, embodying masculine and feminine.”
The release coincides with 1tbsp’s upcoming North American ‘bubble tour’, with Soltera joining as main support. He has also signed her next project to his independent label, dottidot.
