For more than three decades, Hernán Cattáneo has built a career shaped by patience, consistency, and a deep connection with his audience. From Buenos Aires to dance floors across the world, ‘El Maestro’ has become a central figure in progressive house. His impact reaches far beyond DJ sets, extending into his work as a curator, label head, and mentor.

Through his label Sudbeat Music, his influential radio show, and the globally respected Sunsetstrip events, Cattaneo has cultivated a community around musical storytelling and long-form DJ sets. His work reflects a lasting commitment to the culture and to the people who gather around it.

As he returns to Miami Music Week, Electronic Groove welcomes Hernán Cattáneo to the cover of this special edition. In recent months, he has expanded the Sunsetstrip concept with new editions planned for Buenos Aires and, for the first time, Madrid. At the same time, he has announced a summer residency in Ibiza at Akasha.

In this conversation with Electronic Groove, Cattaneo reflects on his musical path, the evolution of the global electronic scene, the philosophy behind Sudbeat, and the importance of maintaining identity in a fast-moving industry.
