Philipp Jung has released the new 11-track compilation, ‘Rewind Forward Vol. 1,’ now available on Get Physical Music. The project serves as the debut installment of a series dedicated to reviving overlooked tracks from the label’s extensive catalog. Read his recent interview with EG here.
The collection features four remixes from Jung, including a previously unreleased interpretation of ‘Just Let Go’ by Birds Of Mind. This new version focuses on a mid-tempo, bass-heavy groove paired with atmospheric synth work. The tracklist also includes Jung’s recent reworks of legacy material from DJ T., Bruce Leroys, and Siopis.
Beyond the founder’s contributions, the compilation includes high-profile remixes from Kölsch and Kenny Larkin. The selection spans a variety of house sub-genres, featuring Ryan Murgatroyd’s melodic take on Dele Sosimi’s ‘E Go Betta,’ and the dub-influenced percussion of Digitaline on ‘A Journey To The Stars.’
Philipp Jung is a co-founder of Get Physical Music and Kindisch. As one half of M.A.N.D.Y., he became a central figure in the development of the contemporary house scene, known for blending melodic elements with club-focused grooves.
