Los Angeles-based Principleasure presents “III” his third album, which took almost 4 years to finish. Of Iranian origin but hailing from Northern Ireland, he draws equal influence from soundtracks, early EBM, the 90s melodic techno of his youth, and electro tinged disco, amassing a Spinal Tap-esque collection of vintage analog synthesisers with which each track is meticulously crafted.
Described as a “Menacing, enthralling debut”, his ‘I’ LP was Mixmag’s Electro album of the month, topping Bandcamp’s Electronica chart and appearing on a multitude of leftfield TV shows such as the Italian Netflix series “Baby”. His tracks have seen support from a diverse range of DJs, from Dixon and Ame to Dave Clarke and A-Trak.
A self-styled “backward technologist” he has featured numerous times in the music tech press, creating his own software synthesiser and giving away the sound banks from his rare collection of hardware electronic instruments.
He also produced for artists such as Vince Staples on Motown and maintained the expansive Los Angeles-based vintage synth studio Principle Pleasure.
Previous singles “System 100” and “Belong,” featuring Barcelona-based Nur Nur, were released last year to extensive DJ support.
