The acquisition unites major brands including Akai Professional, Traktor, and Kontakt.
inMusic has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Native Instruments, the Berlin-based music technology leader. The deal brings together some of the industry’s most prominent hardware and software brands under a single corporate umbrella.
The move expands inMusic’s portfolio to include Native Instruments’ core platforms, such as the Kontakt sampler and Traktor DJ software. The acquisition also encompasses the iZotope, Plugin Alliance, and Brainworx brands, which previously operated within the Native Instruments ecosystem. This transition follows a 2025 partnership where the two entities collaborated on NKS integration for Akai Pro and M-Audio controllers.
The merger aims to deepen the technical integration between hardware and software. By combining inMusic’s manufacturing capabilities with Native Instruments’ digital tools, the company plans to streamline workflows for its 25 million registered users.
inMusic currently owns several historic industry names, including Moog Music, Akai Professional, and Denon DJ. Native Instruments has spent three decades developing audio production standards used by professionals worldwide.
The transaction is expected to close in the coming weeks.
