Soma Records has launched a new remix series, ‘SOMA35,’ to celebrate its 35th anniversary in the electronic music industry. The first installment, ‘SOMA 35.1,’ features reinterpretations of classic tracks by label co-founders Slam.

The initial four-track EP includes new versions of Slam’s ‘Vapour’ and ‘Program.’ Contemporary techno artists Mark Broom, FJAAK, Vril, and Linear Phase provide the remixes for this opening edition.

The broader ‘SOMA35’ anniversary project will span six vinyl and digital releases. Future installments will feature contributions from prominent techno figures including Surgeon, Oscar Mulero, Luke Slater, and Lewis Fautzi, who each selected tracks from the label’s extensive back catalogue.

Co-founded in Glasgow in 1991 by Slam alongside Dave Clarke and Glenn Gibbons, Soma Records has remained a foundational fixture in British and global techno culture. The milestone comes as Slam embarks on an international summer tour, including a performance at Glasgow’s TRNSMT Festival.

‘SOMA 35.1’ is available now digitally, with the vinyl release following on July 24th, 2026. Stream and download here.
