Xelta, the collaborative project of producer Bruno Coviello and KEXP host Sharlese Metcalf, has released its debut EP, ‘B.D.S.M.,’ via Bézier’s Body Tension / Körperspannung Records.
The five-track release channels industrial and EBM traditions through a femme perspective, exploring power dynamics and tension through rhythm. Coviello provides the driving electronic production, while Metcalf contributes spoken directives and structural phrasing.
The record includes original cuts such as the title track, ‘Exquisite S3RVIC3,’ and ‘MYY KONTROLL,’ alongside remixes by Radio Void and Anticipation. The release follows contributions from Coviello to ‘My Brother’s Killer’ film scoring and Metcalf’s long-running underground broadcasting and DJ career.
With this release, Bézier’s Berlin-based label Body Tension / Körperspannung Records continues its exploration of leftfield techno, industrial, EBM and darkwave through a singular vision of body music as something physical, confrontational and emotionally charged.
