With Imagine, 1zimmerapartment opens EVOSONIC Records’ EVOPARADE – the compilation built around the EVOSONIC float at Rave The Planet 2026. At first, a track with this title appearing in the context of this year’s #ImagineLOVE motto seems an obvious fit. Thematically, however, Imagine takes a less straightforward route.
“Imagine a place.” From this thought, the spoken-word text creates a space in which background, clothing and categories lose their significance, differences no longer create distance, and music is not merely entertainment but connection. A forceful groove and the interplay between density and reduction, intimacy and space drive the roughly seven-minute track.
Imagine reflects 1zimmerapartment’s musical self-conception: Genre is a point of orientation, not a boundary. This stylistic openness is not a crossover concept but simply part of the project’s identity. Progressive, house, techno, acid, and melodic and hypnotic influences all belong to the same coordinate system. Imagine turns them into a deep, repetitive, and progressive club sound that does not limit itself to fit a category.
The calm voice remains part of this movement. No conventional vocal hook, no grand gesture – individual thoughts surface, are given space and shift in perspective with each repetition. Until, finally, the invitation to imagine another place becomes something else:
“Stop imagining. You’re already here.”
This means Imagine is not an anthem to #ImagineLOVE. Because perhaps the problem begins with the imperative itself: a world that allows openness, connection and difference should not have to be imagined. Imagine is not an escape into a better world. It is that brief moment in which it already exists – perhaps not permanently, but long enough to experience it.
