It will be incorporated in 2024.

Yesterday, Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee, confirmed that the IOC has decided to include breakdance among the new disciplines planned for the next Olympic events, with the intention of modernizing it and bring it closer to young people.

Out of the streets of New York back at the end of the 70s, breakdance is now set to take on the stage-lights as part of the official programming for the 2024 Olympics, set to take place in Paris from July 26th to August 11th.

Breakdancing is the latest discipline to be added, along with sport climbing, surfing, and skateboarding, although these will already be present at the next Tokyo Olympics to be held next summer 2021.
