Dunkelheit presents ‘Eroica’ EP, a mesmerising transatlantic collaboration by Guzy (Berlin) & Hools (San Francisco). Meeting through DJing, the duo played extended B2B sets in 2019 that sparked the idea to combine Guzy’s talent for groove with Hools’ melodic bliss and synth love. The results are pulsating, powerful and filled with raw, melodic emotion.
‘Eroica’ conjures torrents of floor-focused energy. A tight bass-line accentuated by bright stabs and swirling melodies builds relentlessly, culminating in a massive, emotional break. Eroica is a dance-floor menace for body and soul, and showcases both producers’ unparalleled skill as auditory storytellers.
‘Untold Story’ is all about groove, with intriguing, enveloping percussion and mysterious surprises, all wrapped in beautiful shimmering pads. A dazzling arpeggio rises without limit in an uplifting orchestra of beautiful machines.
Rounding out the EP are 2 powerful, peak-time remixes of Eroica by accomplished producers Schlepp Geist (GER) and Aaryon (Spain). Schlepp Geist builds on the originals’ playful narrative, whisking the listener to a place of unencumbered bliss; while Aaryon takes a darker approach with a driving groover bursting with pent-up energy in a stunning display of the range of musical reinterpretation.
