East London producer FNP returns with his third full EP ‘Universe’, a journey through his many influences in electronic music. The project is a potent blend of 70’s Italo Disco, 80’s Synthwave and 90’s Acid Techno influences, with a production standard rarely matched in 2021.

Since beginning his musical journey playing drum and bass events at University, the multi-faceted producer FNP has added many strings to his musical career. Aside from his productions, he’s spent years working in marketing roles in the industry, as well as founding labels Slinkiemusic and Bottled Sauce, picking up some notable fans including Teki Latex, Avalon Emerson, Ross From Friends, Loxy & Resound & Palace.

On his own projects, the London producer has gained support from Thump Magazine, Clash, Datatransmission, Indieshuffle, Dummy Magazine and Complex with many more following suit. His releases in the last few years have pushed the envelope for leftfield techno, synthwave and house with significant support from streaming platforms. Across Spotify his recent releases have picked up over 700k streams worldwide, with Amazon Music also supporting across their ‘Electric Disco’ and ‘Progressive Dance’ playlist.

On the ‘Universe’ EP, we hear the producer come full circle with a cosmic journey through electronic music history. The project starts with the synthwave anthem of ‘Everywhere Yet Nowhere’ and ebbs and flows through retrowave references. The lead single ‘Universe’ builds to an epic crescendo, full of hands in the air moments. Speaking on the EP, FNP states:

‘Universe’ is the final track from an EP that draws on all my biggest influences – There’s lots of references to 80’s italo disco, Synthwave and the acid techno movement of the 90’s – The whole project was recorded using analogue synths, working to give the rich character of older electronic production, with a modern style. I’ve also got a lot of inspiration from soundtracks such as Bladerunner, Drive and even Stranger Things.

Release date: March 3rd, 2021.
