Coalition of European booking agencies present ‘Green Rider’ initiative

Including the use of reusable items and more sustainable modes of transportation.

Conceived at the start of the pandemic, the United Independent Music Agencies, a coalition of European booking agencies, is fighting to reduce the industry’s carbon footprint. Now, with their ‘Green Rider’ initiative, the organization seeks to implement new measures, including requests for clean, reusable items, minimal use of air travel, reduction of waste, and locally sourced organic food.

The ‘Green Rider’ is a part of a ‘Green Charter’, a larger blueprint that the coalition is working towards, which includes other initiatives like cloud services on green server parks and an EU artist pass modeled after the Interrail Global Pass.

‘We all have a responsibility for the preservation of the earth. Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to be completely eco-friendly in this industry, but through communication and requests below, we hope that we can develop a greener way of touring,’ can be read in the ‘Green Rider’.

Octopus Agents, AD, Meanwhile, and We Are E. Together, which represent over 500 artists like Nastia, Steve Rachmad, or Circle Of Live, are all operating under UIMA.
