Next up on the evolving Desert Hearts Black imprint is a two-track collaboration EP from Perspectives label head Darin Epsilon, and powerhouse producer Marc DePulse. Both of these German based artists are well known for their massively diverse releases, constantly leaving their mark on the top labels all around the world. This being their first time on the LA based Desert Hearts Black label, both tracks reflect the vision beautifully, drawing on dark and driving energy built for a packed dance floor.
The duo begin their collaboration with ‘Commodora’, an Indie charged tune layered with haunting melody and massive energy. Momentary breaks into descending, retro melodies make way for massive moments of groove and intensity. Impressive power and dynamics in this one, as these two shows once again how much range they possess in curating proper progressive, full of attitude. Big debut track from this pair, and one that truly sets the tone for their work together.
The B-side, titled ‘Lunapolis’, hits the ground running with incredible energy and groove in the drums, twisted emotion pouring out of the synth work, and a beautiful bridge between the late-night heaviness and uplifting euphoria of the early morning. Darin and Marc truly found the sweet spot of their individual production strengths together on this one, landing in a powerful ride that is set to lock in anyone within earshot. The driving melody is pure class, pulling into the depths as if experiencing the climactic moment of a hero’s quest.
Both Darin and Marc have inspired the DH Black crew with their constant production quality, and this debut EP welcomes them into the always-expanding family.
