Music software manufacturer Ableton has launched a new music-sketching app called Note. The new tool is described as a place to “start ideas”, rather than creating full-bodied music.
“Note is a place to start ideas, experiment with sounds, and find direction,” can be read on Ableton’s website. “As part of your regular music-making routine, it can help you hone the skill of starting or ease into a creative headspace at the start of a session.”
Note is meant to encourage users to create with the app using its drum kits, melodic instruments, and synth sounds, and allows for use of Ableton effects such as Reverb, Delay, and more. It also enables users to imagine their own bespoke ‘sound palette’ with field recordings.
