Ableton is updating its flagship Live software with the launch of Live 12.4 in public beta. The new version builds on Live 12.3 and introduces Link Audio alongside a series of workflow and effects enhancements.

Following the release of Live 12.3, which added a stem separation tool, Live 12.4 expands its capabilities with Link Audio. The new feature allows users to stream audio between Link Audio-enabled devices over a local network in real time, offering a practical solution for those working across multiple Ableton setups.

The update also delivers revamped versions of three audio effects: Erosion, Chorus-Ensemble, and Delay. Erosion will now be available on Move and Note, extending its reach across Ableton’s ecosystem. Meanwhile, improvements to the stem separation tool now allow users to merge separated stems onto a single track, rather than generating individual tracks for each element.

Another key addition is the new Learn view, which replaces the previous Help view. Designed to provide “structured tutorials,” it combines short videos and text to guide users through the software’s features.

The public beta of Ableton Live 12.4 is available as a free update for Live 12 owners enrolled in the Ableton Beta Program.
