Above and Beyond have released a new behind-the-scenes documentary titled ‘Stepping In: The Making of Bigger Than All Of Us’, offering a close look at the creation of their latest studio album.

Available now to watch in full on YouTube, the 30-minute film follows Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki, and Tony McGuinness during the making of ‘Bigger Than All Of Us’, their first electronic studio album in seven years. The documentary captures the trio inside their London studio and traces the personal and creative processes that shaped the record.

Rather than a standard making-of, ‘Stepping In’ focuses on the realities of maintaining a long-term creative partnership. Through candid interviews and previously unseen footage, the band reflects on distance, burnout, and the impact of individual healing on collective work. The film mirrors the album’s central theme of reconnection, both within the group and with the wider Anjunafamily surrounding them.

The documentary also features recording sessions with longtime collaborators Zoë Johnston and Richard Bedford, alongside open conversations about post-pandemic disconnection and the emotional challenges faced during the album’s development. These moments frame ‘Stepping In’ as a reflective chapter in the group’s ongoing story.

Formed in 2000, Above and Beyond have built a long-standing presence in electronic music. The release of the documentary follows a year that included their fifth studio album, a global tour, and celebrations marking 25 years of Anjunabeats.
