Across Boundaries, the collaborative project of Chris Stussy and Locklead, return to Up The Stuss with their most comprehensive body of work to date. Titled ‘Sakura’, the EP arrives as a 2×12” eight-tracker exploring organic textures and intricate grooves shaped during studio retreats in the Dutch wilderness.

Following previous outings ‘Sense Of Future’ (2023) and ‘Synergy’ (2024), the duo now expands their sonic language with a project that reflects both artistic maturity and their growing confidence as collaborators. Conceived during weekend-long recording sessions in remote natural surroundings, ‘Sakura’ captures the atmosphere of the forest, blending introspection and precision with a clear focus on the dancefloor.

Opening cut ‘Sakura’ sets the tone with a hypnotic flow that blossoms into a layered, emotive landscape. ‘The Funktion’ follows with its tunnelling drive, while ‘A Love Letter…’ reveals a more subdued, hazy dimension. The energy lifts again with ‘Da Resurrection’, offering another shift in tone as the EP evolves. Each track builds on the last, threading melody and rhythm into a seamless arc.

For Stussy and Locklead, longtime friends and collaborators, ‘Sakura’ represents not just a sonic statement, but a personal one. The project reveals an intuitive creative language forged through time, trust, and shared vision—where ideas emerge freely and the boundaries of their sound expand with purpose.
