Adam Beyer and Eli Brown have unveiled their joint EP ‘Overdose of Bass’ on the Drumcode label. This collaboration marks these producers’ first work together in the studio.
The title track ‘Overdose of Bass’ delivers a powerful sound design with a clear technical focus. The track features layered vocals that alternate between smooth and mechanical sounds, backed by sharp snares, breakbeat patterns, and well-placed siren effects.
On ‘Living In The Moment,’ they create a strong techno track that combines fast-paced rhythms with bass sounds. Clear female vocals and a spacious breakdown balance the track’s intense energy with melodic elements.
Swedish techno icon Adam Beyer, founder of Drumcode and Truesoul labels, continues to evolve and innovate in techno. His recent works include the ‘Don’t Go’ EP and a collaboration with Vintage Culture.
British producer Eli Brown has made a swift ascent in techno since 2016, becoming the first techno artist to perform at Rockefeller Center. His jungle and drum & bass background brings a fresh perspective to this collaboration.
“I think Eli is one of the key artists to bring a fresh energy and perspective to club techno in recent years and it’s been cool collaborating with him, both in the studio and behind the decks in the B2Bs we’ve played, with the Drumcode show in Lisbon being a particular highlight,” Adam says. “I think with ‘Overdose of Bass’ we’ve perfectly blended our two respective styles and sounds. I’m really pleased to be able to finally share this with the Drumcode family as it’s been a big track in many of my sets through 2024.”
