AlphaTheta has announced full Apple Music integration for its latest multi-player, the CDJ-3000X, introducing StreamingDirectPlay — a feature that gives DJs direct access to over 100 million tracks and curated playlists from Apple Music.
Once signed into Apple Music on rekordbox and connected via CloudDirectPlay, users can authenticate instantly by holding a smartphone over the CDJ-3000X’s NFC touch area. DJs can then browse, preview, and play Apple Music tracks directly from the unit — no laptop required.
The CDJ-3000X builds on the CDJ legacy with enhanced speed, responsiveness, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen for intuitive navigation. The integration expands Apple Music’s DJ ecosystem, following last year’s launch of DJ With Apple Music, now compatible with platforms including Djay Pro, Serato, Engine DJ, Denon DJ, Numark, and Rane.
A dedicated DJ With Apple Music page now offers curated playlists, setup guides, and tools to help users get the most from the CDJ-3000X. On AlphaTheta’s official Apple Music curator page, subscribers can also explore exclusive mixes and playlists.
“AlphaTheta has long been at the forefront of music technology,” said Stephen Campbell, global head of dance, electronic, and DJ mixes at Apple Music. “We’re excited to have Apple Music integrated into the new CDJ-3000X, bringing the power of 100 million songs and our editorial curation to users around the world.”
The move also reinforces Apple Music’s broader commitment to DJ culture, through initiatives like DJ Mixes and Apple Music Club, the platform’s 24-hour station dedicated to dance and electronic.
