AlphaTheta has officially released the CDJ-3000X, its new flagship media player. The unit expands on the CDJ-3000 with upgraded connectivity, improved sound performance, and hardware enhancements.

Developed under the Pioneer DJ brand, the CDJ-3000X brings significant updates, including built-in Wi-Fi, cloud access, and a front-facing NFC touchpoint. Users can now connect to online media without the need for a LAN cable, simply by holding their smartphone near the reader. This feature requires a subscription to rekordbox Creative or Professional plans to enable CloudDirectPlay.

The CDJ-3000X introduces AlphaTheta’s largest-ever touchscreen at 10.1 inches, displaying up to 16 tracks simultaneously for more efficient navigation. A new USB-C port broadens compatibility with current storage devices.

Mechanical enhancements include a redesigned jog wheel with adjustable tension and more durable play and cue buttons, which the company claims can endure over 500,000 more presses than the previous model. Audio improvements feature a high-performance DAC and redeveloped power supply, delivering higher-resolution sound with deeper bass, reduced noise, and enhanced channel separation.

The player also supports playlist editing directly on the device and introduces a copy-paste function for faster browsing. Universal DJ Library, an evolution of rekordbox’s Device Library Plus, is now supported, allowing playback from other DJ applications like djay Pro and Traktor Pro 4.
