AlphaTheta has issued an important notice after identifying a security vulnerability affecting PRO DJ LINK in rekordbox and certain compatible CDJ and XDJ units.

According to the company, an unauthorized party connected to the same network could potentially view data stored on a Windows or Mac computer running rekordbox, or on USB and SD devices connected to a compatible player. AlphaTheta says it has not confirmed any cases of damage linked to the vulnerability.

While a permanent fix is being prepared, users are advised to update rekordbox on desktop, iOS, and Android, avoid storing sensitive information on removable media used with DJ equipment, and connect only through secure, password-protected Wi-Fi networks. The company will publish further information as the response develops.
