Amsterdam’s De School share extensive online recorded sets archive

Featuring over 800 recorded sets by more than 500 artists.

Amsterdam nightclub, De School, which closed its doors earlier this year, has made a significant contribution to the digital realm with the launch of an expansive online archive.

This project, titled ‘Het Archief’, is the result of a collaboration between De School, Mixcloud, the archivist Stadsarchief, and the music institution Podium Kunst. It features a collection of over 800 sets recorded from 2016 to 2020.

The archive showcases the talents of more than 500 artists, including notable figures like Hunee, rRoxymore, Dixon, Speedy J, Simo Cell, CARISTA, Identified Patient, Shanti Celeste, Terrence Dixon, Elena Colombi, and Ploy.

In a heartfelt message on Instagram, the club described ‘Het Archief’ as a translation of their eight-year history into an enduring archive. It stands as a testament to the timeless value of club culture, as well as a beacon for the present and future.

De School, having first opened its doors exactly eight years prior, ceased operations permanently this past January 2024.

You can check the complete archive here.
