Aphex Twin currently boasts more monthly YouTube listeners than Taylor Swift, according to data highlighted by LA-based DJ and content creator RamonPang.
According to the latest YouTube Music figures, Aphex Twin holds 438 million monthly listeners across YouTube’s ecosystem — including YouTube Music, Shorts, and video streams — while Taylor Swift records 396 million. RamonPang refers to this unexpected contrast as an “anomaly,” attributing the surge to the virality of Aphex Twin’s 2001 track ‘QKThr’.
The melancholic accordion piece has gained massive traction online, soundtracking over 4 million TikTok videos, nearly 530,000 Instagram Reels, and 507,000 YouTube Shorts. Its prominence is largely tied to the rising popularity of the “subtle foreshadowing” and “hopecore” content trends.
