South African producer and artist Arrumar has announced his forthcoming album, ‘Xa Humba’, set for release on July 28th, 2026, via QEONE. The announcement arrives alongside the record’s first single, ‘Hamba’, which is out now.
Created by Mlunghisi Chauke, ‘Xa Humba’ blends traditional African rhythms with contemporary electronic production. Inspired by his upbringing in Bushbuckridge, South Africa, the album introduces Arrumar’s self-defined Traditional Dance Music sound, combining heritage, storytelling, percussion, and modern club music.
The title carries personal meaning for the artist, as ‘Humba’ translates to “snail” and is connected to his surname clan, symbolizing perseverance, patience, and steady progress. The record is also shaped by Muchongolo, a traditional dance and musical practice whose rhythms and drums inform the album’s pulse.
First single ‘Hamba’ centers on a mother saying goodbye to her daughter as she begins a new chapter through marriage, balancing celebration and vulnerability through vocal work and rhythm-led production.
