Hraach, born in Armenia and currently residing in Spain, has emerged as a compelling figure in the electronic music scene over the past decade. His journey from childhood fascination to becoming a celebrated producer began with a deep-rooted passion for music. But it wasn’t until 2011, when he started his own productions, that he truly found his calling. This is the sound of Hraach, our Artist Of The Month.
Reflecting on his beginnings, Hraach shares, “All the magic began with a book by Frank Broughton, ‘A Manual on the Art of DJing.’ At the age of 15, I dove into its pages and eagerly got my hands on Traktor DJ to craft my own mixes using my computer. Gradually, I invested in a controller, followed by a mixer and a sound card to level up my mixing game.” His early years were marked by a self-taught exploration into the world of DJing and production, which set the stage for his future success.
Over the years, Hraach has developed a unique sonic universe characterized by elegant transitions, abstract tones, and deep, melancholic rhythms. His music, a blend of ancient and modern sounds with mesmerizing vocals, captivates listeners worldwide. He describes his sound as “elegant and emotional,” aiming to create music that defies categorization and avoids trends.
A pivotal moment in Hraach’s career came in 2016 when he received an invitation to perform for the first time in Zurich at Frieda’s Büxe. “It was an unforgettable night that will forever hold a special place in my heart,” he recalls. This breakthrough performance was a significant milestone, marking the beginning of his international recognition.
His recent works, including two EPs, ‘Mental Frame’ and ‘Sushupti,’ released through his label Hidden Dimension, showcase his refined sound and artistic evolution through complex structures and captivating storytelling. Establishing his own label has provided him with a platform to express his creative vision and promote talented artists who inspire him.
In 2024, Hraach took a significant step forward by developing a new live performance. This exciting project aims to offer a seamless and captivating experience for his listeners, guiding them to uncharted destinations. “I’ve always dreamed of seeing my project come to life, and now I can’t wait to share all the work I’ve put into it over the past year,” he says. The live show is unique in that it features tracks without prerecorded structures, allowing the music to evolve organically on the dancefloor.
Hraach’s commitment to his craft and his continuous pursuit of new sounds have enabled him to stand out in the crowded electronic music scene. “During the last years, I’ve been working in the studio, trying to come up with new sounds, improving sound quality, constantly learning and trying to come up with different sounds but always being true to what I like and what resonates with my heart,” he explains.
Today, his influence extends beyond the music. He recently started a new Studio Series aimed at bringing fans closer to his creative process. “My goal is to bridge the gap and bring you closer to my creative space. I hope to really capture those intimate moments when every sound falls into place and the magic unfolds,” he shares.
As he continues to produce innovative music and perform globally, Hraach serves as a source of inspiration in the electronic music community, drawing a boundless horizon. His dedication to his art and his ability to adapt and evolve in the liquid landscape provided by the music industry solidify his legacy. Hraach’s journey is one that speaks of the power of passion and perseverance, and he shows no signs of slowing down as he continues to explore new sonic spaces and captivate audiences around the world.
