At the age of 27, DJ and music producer r4ne has become a rising techno exponent in Brazil, especially in the South scene, where he lives and manages his music career on and off stage. DJ for almost 10 years now, he debuted his first music productions independently last year and got support from names like Robert Owens, DJ T., Sonic Union, and Severino Panzetta.
Among his most outstanding releases is his latest track, ‘Inner Space’, which brings a powerful dialogue between the best possible sounds from peak time and melodic techno. Previous to that, ‘Coder’ and ‘Behind The Logic’ helped make r4ne’s intentions evident: to explore sonic facets of the techno spectrum without neglecting the melodic aspects with which he’s got ultimate affinity.
Identity is a word mentioned a lot by r4ne, who prefers a smaller number of releases to bring out a musical narrative to his career: each release and each element used in his songs needs to make sense, both in that present moment of production and for his macro artistic image. Trends might help, but they should not be put as rules for creation.
As head of the label Prototype Music, r4ne also understands the importance of consistency to hack spaces for himself and, mostly, for other melodic house and techno artists; in less than two years of activities, Prototype Music has promoted almost 40 releases, between EPs and VAs. r4ne runs the label alongside his industry colleague Colussi, with whom he also shares the stage in the duo Innure.
Through Innure’s work, r4ne was able to reap more achievements for his productive ecosystem: they were remixed by expressive names in the scene, such as BLANCAh. They also have released on imposing Brazilian labels, such as Warung Recordings (label by Warung Beach Club), and have played on Homeric stages such as that of Surreal Park.
