In a powerful display of solidarity, over 4,000 artists from around the world have signed an open letter calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. Initiated by Musicians For Palestine, it has gained significant support in less than a week since its launch.

Published on November 16th, the letter emphasizes the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid in Gaza, as well as an end to the ongoing blockade. The signatories, which include well-known artists such as Brian Eno, Ben UFO, and The Blessed Madonna, are united in their vision of a just and peaceful future for all.

The letter cites the perspectives of Israeli genocide scholar Raz Segal and UN human rights official Craig Mokhiber, who describe the situation in Gaza as “a clear instance of genocide.” Musicians For Palestine firmly reject the use of their music to conceal oppression and human rights violations, drawing inspiration from the successful Artists Against Apartheid movement that played a role in ending apartheid in South Africa.
