Atish and Nhii have teamed on their latest 2-track EP, ‘Shola’, which is now available on Crosstown Rebel’s sub-label Rebellion.
The musical offering showcases their combined artistic talents. The title track, ‘Shola’, combines electronic sounds and percussion, enhanced by female vocals and a sense of intrigue. The second track ‘2007’, is a dynamic soundscape showcasing Atish’s sound design skills.
Atish states, “I wear my inspirations and playfulness brightly on my sleeve with the ‘Shola’ EP. Nhii and I created ‘Shola,’ referencing my South Asian roots with an obscure 1983 Hindi/Urdu sample, while the solo tune ‘2007’ has synth textures nodding to one of my most formative years as a dance music enthusiast, the year I moved to San Francisco.”
Hailing from New York, Atish is known for his diverse range of music, from deep house and Romanian minimal to techno and progressive house. His work has been featured on labels such as Anjunadeep, Stil Vor Talent, and his own creation, Manjumasi. Nhii, another notable New Yorker, has left his mark in the music industry with his evolving deep sounds and electronic elements, released under labels like Sol Selectas and One Tribe Records.
