In this conversation, AURIN reflects on his roots, the collaborative spirit behind ‘Time Warp’, and his vision for the future of electronic music.
EG: Hi, AURIN! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been? Where are you right now?
AURIN: Hey! Thanks for having me. I’ve been great—2025 has been an exciting journey so far. Right now, I’m in Dubai, working on new music and preparing for some upcoming shows. It’s been a busy but rewarding time.
EG: So, first of all, congratulations on the release of ‘Time Warp’, your new collaboration with 8Kays on Eleatics Records! You must be very excited to have this one out. How do you feel now that it’s been out for a few weeks? What has the initial reception been like so far?
AURIN: Thank you! The response has been incredible. Seeing ‘Time Warp’ being played at major festivals like Afterlife, Tomorrowland, ASOT, Awakenings and supported by artists I admire is surreal (Armin Van Buuren, Kevin De Vries, 8Kays, more). When we worked on this track, we wanted to create something immersive and timeless, and it’s amazing to see how people have connected with it.
EG: Tell us, what can listeners expect to find on this new single? Is there a concept or emotion driving this particular piece?
AURIN: The track builds to a more festival-energetic vibe with a strong engagement factor for the audience. We wanted to create something that keeps the energy high while still maintaining an emotional depth, making it perfect for big stages and immersive experiences.
EG: As we said, ‘Time Warp’ finds you linking up with 8Kays. How did the connection come about? What was the collaborative process like?
AURIN: Every track starts with an idea. I tried to work on something fresh—experimenting with new sound designs and different patterns—then sent it over to 8Kays. She got back to me in a couple of weeks, loved the idea, and wanted to elevate the track further with her touch. That’s how ‘Time Warp’ came into existence.

EG: In your eyes, what elements are key to a successful collaboration? What would you consider a “success” in this particular area?
AURIN: A successful collaboration is about creative synergy and trust. Each artist brings their unique touch, and the key is to complement each other’s strengths rather than compromise individuality. Success, to me, is when both artists feel proud of the final product and the track resonates with the audience the way we envisioned it.
EG: By the way, how did you first connect with electronic dance music? What is it that drove you to DJing and production? What was that process like?
AURIN: I always loved electronic dance music, but the real turning point was when I first heard Tiësto’s ‘Elements of Life’ album. That sound was something else—it completely pulled me in. Then, when I discovered his ‘Kaleidoscope’ album, especially the track ‘Louder Than Boom’, I went crazy for it! That track had this insane energy, and I remember thinking, I want to create something that makes people feel like this. That’s when I started experimenting with music production in my bedroom using Ableton Live. Over time, my sound has evolved, and I’ve found a deeper, darker approach with techno—constantly trying new ideas and blending different elements to make something meaningful.
EG: And how would you define your sound by now? Are you making the music you thought you’d be making when you first got started?
AURIN: My sound has evolved into something deeply rooted in futuristic and galactic themes, blending dark, melancholic elements with driving energy. And with every track I produce, I find new innovations to grow on. When I first started, I didn’t have a clear direction, but over time, I realized I wanted my music to feel like an experience—something that transports people. I’m definitely making the music I was meant to make.
EG: Now, on to the state of the scene…What do you see as the biggest challenge for the music industry in the next few years, and how do you think artists can adapt?
AURIN: The biggest challenge is maintaining authenticity in an industry that’s becoming more algorithm-driven. With so much content being pushed out constantly, standing out requires more than just great music—it’s about creating a unique identity and staying true to it. Artists need to adapt by focusing on storytelling, building strong communities, and using technology to enhance creativity rather than chasing trends. Also, I don’t have any boundaries, so I keep trying different things genre-wise while keeping my touch.

EG: Looking forward, what can we expect from AURIN in the coming months? Where can your fans catch you next? Are there any upcoming releases we should be on the lookout for?
AURIN: New tracks are deeper and energetic at the same time. I’m working on some exciting projects that push my sound even further. Performance-wise, I have some gigs in the works that will be announced soon enough. Stay tuned—there’s a lot more coming.
EG: Thank you so much for your time, AURIN! We wish you all the best for the future. Take care!
AURIN: Thank you very much! I appreciate the support. Looking forward to sharing more music and moments with everyone soon.
