The records will drop simultaneously.
Studio Barnhus alum Axel Boman has announced his plans for a double release this April, as he readies to drop ‘LUZ/QUEST FOR FIRE’. These are his first solo efforts in over a decade and will be available via Studio Barnhus.
While ‘LUZ/QUEST FOR FIRE’ will drop simultaneously, its press release indicates that the works are ‘separate but corresponding, communicating through music, design, and words.’
Both records feature the participation of Kamohelo, Baba Stiltz, Bella Boo, Man Tear, Miljon, and saxophonist Kristian Harborg. Boman also included long-time collaborators, Robin Ekemark, who worked on the design, and Erik Lavesson, who worked on words and art direction.
‘For Axel’s two albums, we wanted to build on the music to create a kind of expanded universe. If you just want to listen to the music, it’s all there and you don’t have to look any further. If you want to go deeper, you have these extra layers to delve into: album art, text, archive material. They feedback into the music and open up new perspectives, while the music opens up ways to enter the other material as well.’ says Lavesson about Boman’s new project.
Axel Boman’s ‘LUZ/QUEST FOR FIRE’ is scheduled for release on April 15th. You can pre-order your copies here.
