Chicago’s Azzecca launches her new record label Cosimea Sounds with the release of ‘AL’S HOT SOUP’, a high-energy cut that sets the tone for the imprint’s playful and otherworldly vision.
Rooted in the ethos of her Cosimea event series — known for spotlighting diverse talent and building community on the dancefloor — Cosimea Sounds is, as Azzecca puts it, “an exploration of otherworldly club sounds.” With a distinct aesthetic featuring cats, aliens, and homemade soup references, the label embraces a sonic and visual identity that’s unmistakably hers.
“Cosimea began as an event project aimed at building community and recentering the focus on the dancefloor,” Azzecca shares. “Building this cosmic world and having the freedom to play outside-of-the-box music led to an obvious shift in my production process and finished projects. I knew I needed to create a platform to release the sounds that I feel really proud of, without the pressure of needing to fit into the current label landscape.”
Driven by fast, assertive rhythms and spacey synths, ‘AL’S HOT SOUP’ blends bass-heavy club energy with sci-fi atmospheres, staccato themes, and abstract vocal samples — delivering a futuristic trip with emotional depth.
