After their smash hit ‘Dampfmaschine’ in 2020, Baime returns to Radikon with a four-track EP called ‘Places We Hide’. This material fuses the sound of the Danish duo with a distinctive guitar-laden touch.
As indicated in the press release, the main track ‘Places We Hide’ is an honest and emotional hymn, full of haunting voices that speak of thunderstorms and also of refuge’. ‘Satara’, meanwhile, is energetic, thoughtful, and ‘draws the listener into an ocean of synths and pads.’
On the next track, ‘Saints of the Dawn’, the duo create a genre of their own from a dominating tech’n’roll rhythm, ‘interspersed with guitar hits and saturated chords’. To close, ‘Curve of the Sun’ is described as a ‘whirlwind excursion into the heart of a melancholic robot trying to make sense of everything.’
