Los Angeles-based electronic artist and producer BAYNK follows the excitement of the release of his upcoming album, ‘SENESCENCE,’ which is set for release on September 27th, 2024 via Virgin Music Group.
‘SENESCENCE’ has been presented episodically, featuring two-song bundles that will build up to the complete album release later in the year. The latest bundle, ‘SENESCENCE 05+06,’ includes two singles, ‘Grin’ and ‘Mr. Jocko.’
‘Grin’ boasts a laid-back groove paired with an infectious chorus. Also, a music video is scheduled for July 24th, directed by choreographers Keone and Mari Madrid, who have collaborated in the past with artists such as Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, and Kendrick Lamar. BAYNK describes “Grin is an attempt to encapsulate the feeling just before you break into a grin or smile. The short rush when you know you’re about to see someone you love. The adrenaline associated with thoughts of a distant lover and the anticipation of reuniting.”
The bundle also features ‘Mr. Jocko,’ a track with a unique backstory. During his travels in Africa, BAYNK recorded a local children’s choir in Zambia, capturing their simple yet beautiful chant. These recordings became an integral part of the song, adding a layer of meaningful collaboration to the album.
