Legendary UK label and promoter BBE is celebrating three decades in the game with a special event in London this spring. The anniversary party will take place on April 3rd at Hackney Wick’s Number 90.
Running for eight hours across four rooms, the event will feature sets from a selection of BBE affiliates and longtime collaborators, including Kenny Dope, Gilles Peterson, DJ Spinna, Osunlade, and Atjazz. The full lineup is still to be announced.
Founded in 1996, BBE — short for Barely Breaking Even — has played a central role in UK music culture, operating as a label, event series, and record shop. Its catalog includes releases from artists such as Azymuth, DJ Deep, King Britt, Mark Grusane, and Pepe Bradock. The label currently operates out of a railway arch in London Fields.
