Behrouz & Holmar share exclusive marathon session

To raise funds for Behrouz’s medical expenses.

Behrouz and his close friend Holmar have uploaded an exclusive 12-hour B2B set to SoundCloud, recorded as an hommage to their “dearly departed friend Val. The set was uploaded seeking to remind people of Behrouz’s current medical condition.

On the night of April 24th, 2022, Behrouz Nazari suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke while he was about to play at a festival in Santa Barbara, CA.

He was quickly flown to a hospital in Santa Barbara, where a CT scan confirmed bleeding on the left side of his brain caused by high blood pressure. Doctors quickly induced a coma on Behrouz, and he remained in a coma for two weeks to allow the swelling in his brain to go down and for the bleeding to heal. While the latter procedures were successful, Behrouz ultimately lost sufficient oxygen to his brain, causing paralysis on his right side and speech impairment.

To regain necessary life skills, his therapists have determined that Behrouz requires a lot of additional speech therapy and will continue to need physical and occupational therapy. Goals established by his therapists include: work on right-side mobility (arm and leg), intensive speech therapy, daily living skills, and essential self-care (i.e., occupational therapy).

“This set was released in November as a fundraiser boost for my brother from another mother, Behrouz, who has been fighting the battle of his life after a double stroke in California earlier this year. Miracles do happen, and he is back in Miami. It’s a long road ahead, and Medical bills are no joke in this country; America is no Sweden, so bills keep piling up. Despite the fantastic response from our community, we need more help. This set is indeed a very special one, An almost 12-hour journey, B2B Behrouz and I did a few years back in memory of our dearly departed friend Val. It was when things had just reopened after a long pandemic break. My first gig since everything closed down that year, and we were both hungry to play. We had limited hours due to Covid restrictions, but after a quick reset few select regulars heard us getting down and releasing something out of collective systems for many more hours. Personally, the pandemic times had been super trying, and being back with my family there, sharing our music once again, meant the world to me. Maestro B and I love to play together, and if you like the journey we created, please go to his Gofundme page and donate,” says Holmar.
