Björk is set to release her first new album in four years in 2026. According to a post from the Reykjavík Art Festival, the forthcoming record is currently in development and will debut in May as part of ‘Echolalia’, a new collaborative exhibition with visual artist James Merry.

The project will take over all galleries of the National Gallery of Iceland, opening on May 30th, 2026. Björk’s upcoming album, a follow-up to 2022’s ‘Fossora’, will be featured in one of three immersive installations, alongside other works created for the exhibition.

‘Echolalia’ will explore Björk’s role as a multidisciplinary artist, highlighting her collaborations with musicians, designers, filmmakers, dancers, and technicians. The exhibition will also showcase over 80 works by James Merry, including his ‘Metamorphlings’ mask series, known for blending traditional craftsmanship with avant-garde expression.
