To commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.
Washington, DC-based label and collective Black Techno Matters has announced its plans for a massive Juneteenth celebration called ‘Liber8 US’. The party series will take over seven cities in the United States, simultaneously on Sunday, June 18th, 2023.
‘Liber8 US’ will feature performances from more than 40 Black artists as they hit Washington, DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Pittsburgh, Detroit, and Richmond.
“We hope Liber8 US will be a statement to the music community and the world that Black Techno matters and to show what’s possible when Black artists organize together,” the collective said.
