The initiative comes ahead of the 26th edition of the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
Greenpeace and DJs For Climate Action have tapped into the talents of Blond:ish, Nicola Cruz, and Coldcut’s Matt Black to curate a staggering 41-cut VA compilation, ‘Climate Soundtrack’.
All of the music on ‘Climate Soundtrack’ was made using ‘The Climate Sample Pack’, a collection of field recordings from years of Greenpeace expeditions (whale song, birdsong, iceberg clap, monsoons, and more) released in 2020. After an open call from DJs For Climate Action, the final 41 tracks were selected from a pool of over 350 entries.
‘Climate Soundtrack’ features music by Acid Pauli, Mark Farina, and many more, with the vinyl version produced by Green Vinyl Records using a new, eco-conscious production process. All proceeds will be split between local organizations in the areas where field recordings were originally taken, and DJs For Climate Action.
