Brooklyn Mirage has reportedly filed for a permit to demolish a portion of its East Williamsburg location, according to The Real Deal. The application outlines a full demolition of a 32,000-square-foot area within the broader Avant Gardner complex, which spans approximately 80,000 square feet. Estimated project costs stand at $1.5 million.

The filing follows a turbulent stretch for the venue. A planned grand reopening in May 2024 was postponed due to construction delays. Shortly after, CEO Josh Wyatt — brought on in October 2024 to lead a major redesign — was dismissed and replaced by Gary Richards.

In July, after ten weeks of canceled programming, BK Mag reported that Avant Gardner was seeking to sell Brooklyn Mirage but had encountered “difficulties” securing a buyer. The parent company filed for bankruptcy in August.
