On January 17th.
Housepitality’s decade-long affair between New York and California is more poignant than ever as the party relaunches on Friday, January, 17th, 2025 with a diverse roster of DJs and live acts donating their fees to the cause. The lineup includes: 2Melo, LiL’ T, Mike Cashen, Nemoto, Noam, Saqib + NHII, and Shane One.
“The date was set, the flyer was made and the promotions were out when these wildfires devastated Altadena and surrounding areas,” said Michael Tello founder of Housepitality and producer for PillowTalk. “My wife and I both have family there. Everyone on the line-up knows someone affected by this tragedy so our next move was obvious—pivot the party to a benefit to support our brothers and sisters in LA.”
What happened next was an illustrious team who transformed the party in under a week: redesigned flyers, revised talent contracts, non-profits were identified and donation plans made. Supporters include listed, Parties4Peace, Ebb + Flow, Junxion, Electronic Groove plus those driving direct action including LA-based, Universal Mother who will be purchasing and distributing essential supplies for those most impacted. NYBUDS, the DJ-friendly weed dispensary, will also sponsor a drop-box from 6pm requesting that party attendees contribute clothes, toiletries and diapers which will be mailed to facilities in Los Angeles.
The non-profits who will receive both supplies and financial benefits include The LA Dream Center providing hundreds of volunteers and donation logistics; and Direct Relief ensuring PPE and critical medical attention on their ground. With 25 people dead, over 150,000 under evacuation and over 40,000 acres charred by fire (an area larger than Paris). Priority was given to local organizations providing daily aid.
Despite the solemn topic, the $20 ticket price will also give partygoers a beautiful night of food, community and a stellar roster of underground house, techno and disco DJs poised to keep the dancefloor afloat. A highlight of the evening will be a 4-piece live performance from Nemoto, who are best described as high-energy-dance-jazz. Plus, there are bound to be some surprise guests.
As the event promoters describe their 27-year legacy: Housepitality has always been more than music—it’s been about supporting each other, lifting each other up, and showing what we can accomplish when we unite. If you live in the NY, come join the party located at 275 Park near the Brooklyn Navy Yard or tune into the Twitch Channel where the party is livestreamed from 6pm-2am.
