Butch joins forces with songwriter and vocalist Life on Planets for their latest release, ‘Get High With You,’ now available on Defected Records. The single channels nostalgic house influences while showcasing forward-thinking production.
‘Get High With You’ draws clear inspiration from early-2000s house music while incorporating modern harmonic progressions and daring production choices that propel the track into contemporary territory.
“I’ve been a fan of Butch for some time, playing his music in my sets,” shares Life on Planets. “When I heard his remix of my tune ‘Downstream’, I reached out to thank him—and that’s how this collab came about. Working with Butch gave me even more respect for him, especially watching his dedication to crafting every element of the groove.”
Known for his standout Defected releases including ‘I Want You’ with Nic Fanciulli and his recent remix of Duck Sauce’s ‘Fallin in Love’, Butch remains a key figure in the modern house landscape. For Life on Planets, whose 2023 release ‘Mercury in Retrograde’ on Classic Music Company highlighted his soulful vocals and eclectic style, the collaboration marks another bold step.
